Kratom selection doesn’t need to be overly complicated!
The market can be ultra confusing for new customers looking to find information about Kratom. Lets start with the basics of what it is and then work our way into helping you with your Kratom Selection:
What is Kratom?
Kratom is a natural product that comes from the leaf of the Mitragyna Speciosa tree of Southeast Asia; it has been around for centuries. When traditionally taking Kratom it has been known to produce energy in low amounts and provide calmness in high amounts, it has been used as traditional medicine increase focus and help with meditation.
In the United States Kratom consumption is relatively new and as of 2019 there are an estimated 15M people using it daily to help with variety of different pain ailments and to help with mood support.
During your Kratom selection process it’s important to identify your intended use, as each strain produces slightly different effects. Below we created a helpful pyramid tool to help you make the best decision about which Kratom is right for you.
Why is it illegal in some states?
First and foremost: Kratom is a plant, not a synthetic product
It was really a timing issue, Kratom became popular in the US right around the same time synthetic drugs came to the market and turned people into zombies across the nation. Kratom happened to sit right alongside those synthetic products in gas stations with gimmick marketing that lead lawmakers to believe that it was synthetic itself.
Well, it’s NOT synthetic and the legal action against it has been overturned in several states. I truly believe that Kratom will become legal again everywhere once lawmakers become more aware of the product, in fact, it’s only illegal in 7 states according to the American Kratom Association.
I’m confused, why are there so many different names for Kratom?
Kratom selection doesn’t have to be confusing but if you’re just starting your Kratom journey, you’re probably confused as to which strain to buy.
Most vendors name Kratom in this manner:
- The region in which it’s found – Borneo, Bali, Kalimantan etc.
- The color of the underside of the leaf and the drying process used to produce certain colors such as – RED, GREEN, YELLOW, WHITE etc.
- Some vendors have their branding embedded in the name such as – Super, Gold Reserve, Golden etc.
