What Happens When You Drop a Kratom Capsule Into Stomach Acid?
We tested how fast kratom capsules dissolve in a stomach acid simulation (vinegar + citric acid).
Result: the capsule broke down in under 3 minutes—faster than water.
After testing capsules in water, soda, and even when poked with holes, we wanted to get closer to what might actually happen inside your body.
So we ran a simple stomach acid simulation using a mix of vinegar and citric acid. The setup stayed the same: room temperature, magnetic stirring machine, and one capsule dropped in without any poking or cutting.
The result:
The capsule started to break down in under three minutes—noticeably faster than our water test, where it took closer to eight.
How This Compares to Other Tests
In our water test, capsules took significantly longer to break down.
In soda, the capsule barely dissolved even after ten minutes.
This suggests acidic environments can speed up how quickly capsules open.
It’s not a perfect replication of stomach acid, but it gives a better sense of how kratom capsules might behave after you take them.
👉 Would it dissolve even faster if we poked holes like we did in the earlier test?
We’ll try that next.
