Description: The seeds come from the melon like fruit of the Picralima Nitida tree which grows throughout West Africa. Once pulled they are dried and then powdered into a fine dust!   These seeds have a long history in medicinal use.  The seeds contain five alkaloids akuammidine, akuammine, akuammicine, akuammigine and pseudo-akuammigine.  The active alkaloid is akuammine.
